Melanie Jannicelli Shutt, founder and president of Kimberly Rose Events, has been designing and planning weddings for over a decade. Her approach is defined by artistry, precision, and an unwavering commitment to her couples’ vision. A Colorado native with over two decades of experience in the wedding and event industry, Melanie is known for her refined eye, joyful personality, and ability to create beautifully orchestrated, one-of-a-kind celebrations.
After earning her Bachelor’s degree in Art History from Trinity University, Melanie began her career in the bridal industry as a wedding dress consultant, while concurrently spending more than seven years in meeting and conference planning for the State of Colorado. In 2013, she launched Kimberly Rose Events, named in honor of her mother, Kim, and her sister, Carolyn Rose - a reflection of the love, support and inspiration they have always provided.
Melanie’s work has been recognized across the industry, with features in both print and online publications and accolades including Denver A-List’s “Best Wedding Planner” (Top 5, 2016-2020) and the Wedding Wire Couple’s Choice Award (2016-2018). She has been recognized by Expertise.com as one of Denver’s top planners and has previously served as a member of the Colorado chapter of the Wedding Industry Professionals Association (WIPA).
In addition to her planning career, Melanie is a passionate advocate for AVM and brain injury awareness after surviving a rare brain condition in 2019. She has served as the spokesperson for Craig Hospital’s Giving Tuesday campaign and sits on the founding Advisory Council for the University of Anschutz Department of Neurosurgery.
When she is not planning weddings, Melanie can be found living her homesteading dreams with her husband, Adam, their young daughter, Louisa, and a lively menagerie of animals.
